CLARE WILKLOW I am a divorced and single mom, Iraqi War Veteran, and published author. I am active with the VFW, and one year shy of earning my Bachelor's degree in English. I have travelled the world, seen, and met many interesting people. I love animals and am a large supporter of PETA. I think community service is key to maintaining a positive attitude, and engaging with one's community is essential to living a fulfilling life.

The Avon Foundation is an accredited 501(c)(3) public charity in the US that was founded in 1955 to improve the lives of women and their families. Now past the half century mark, the Avon Foundation brings this mission to life through two key areas of focus: the fight against breast cancer and support for women's empowerment, including economic advancement and the issue of domestic violence, and more than 300 grants area awarded each year for these important causes. The flagship programs are the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, which works to advance access to care and finding a cure; and Speak Out Against Domestic Violence, focused on ending the cycle of domestic violence, with a special focus on children. Avon gives me the thing I want most in this world, and that's time to spend with my daughter. Working a nine-five job doesn't cut it for me, because my values revolve around living beings, not staples and file cabinets. That being said, I do love running my own business, file cabinets and all, because it gives me the freedom to choose my hours, schedule my appointments and take control of my life.
When I became a representative for Avon, this was not my intention. I thought that by selling Avon, I would simply be saving myself some money because I knew I would buy the products anyway, and if I sold them, even if it was just to myself, I would at least get some kind of discount.
Within my FIRST campaign, I realized that Avon was much more than that. This was the opportunity I needed to be able to spend more time with my daughter. Avon gives me freedom, income, which, in today's economy is so important, and the ability to do something I love every day. Not only is my daughter a princess, but I make other women feel like princesses too. For me, Avon is like being seven years old all the time.
